Sam Burstein, Ph.D.

Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Burstein’s style is interactive, warm, collaborative, and respectful. He establishes a non-judgmental and supportive environment in which the client can present their concerns. He then takes an integrative approach to the psychotherapy plan developed in response to the presenting problems.  This involves the view that there is no single treatment protocol, which can treat every client in all situations.

Integrative clinicians combine various therapeutic techniques to tailor treatment to an individual’s  needs and goals. By thoughtfully combining therapeutic elements from different schools of theory and research ( e.g. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, psychodynamic approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, etc.),  integrative psychotherapy provides a flexible and holistic approach to treatment. The flexibility of integrative therapy allows for therapy to evolve over time to address the client’s therapy progress, goals, and life changes or events.
